Well it's pretty clear everything from the major labels is remixed. Actually, on a Bad Religion message board discussing the prospect of them doing a career spanning compilation, bassist Jay Bentley told me that Atlantic and Sony actually own the masters from albums released on them, and working out the licensing would be a nightmare. This use of other tracks might in fact be a workaround a similar issue, the songs being sufficiently different that the band would have the rights to them, but i don't know the legalities of it.
Either way, it's great to hear reworking sof classic songs however minor. I do lament the suppression of the background vocals though

You know what, Comicsans.. I still believe I don't need remixes of songs which I know for more than ten years.
They were invented in the late 80s, early 90s to boost the compact disc, to rip off the consumer
Today used by musicians to polish their past and also for the newbies who don't like the old sound. That's what I think, the GH are done for the greenhorns.. But there's no reason to worry about that, they are welcome!

I guess this might explain why there is such a short track list for the GH album. It would have taken longer to go back an re record allot of the other songs that aren't on the GH. Just a thought...
Or maybe they re recorded them because thats what the descendents did (im being sarcastic)

I don't think they were rerecorded, just remixed and remastered.

I'm downloading it now, I can't wait to hear the remastered and remixed songs. Sounds like the band really did do this for the long time fans after all.
